The presidential election is set to occur later this year, on 5 Nov. 2024. As the date comes closer, many of the candidates have dropped out. As of now, the only candidates left are democrats Marianne Williamson and Jason Palmer, as well as current president, Joe Biden. Republican and former president Donald Trump is still in the running, as well as independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Cornel West, and Jill Stein.

However, despite the number of candidates, the true race appears to be between Biden and Trump. Considering both candidates have held the presidency, there is much debate between who the winner of the upcoming election will be.

The current approval polls are incredibly similar, with approximately one percent difference between the two candidates. Although it is widely accepted that the majority of the votes lie with Trump and Biden, as of now it is too early to say who will hold the vote.

Much of the uncertainty in which way the vote will swing, lies in the neutral or undecided states. Currently, Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia could possibly swing either way.

Despite the impending election, both primary candidates appear to be tackling other issues as well. As the current president, Biden is entertaining foreign ministers in between campaigns, while Trump is fighting a lawsuit from New York. Biden appears to be fighting for the battleground states currently, with multiple events scheduled in Pennsylvania later this week, attempting to swing the state.

With the current state of the election, there is no way to tell which way it will swing. It is likely that there will be no steady prediction for the winner of this election, and the November election will be the deciding factor. However, it is evident that the majority of the race is between Trump and Biden, therefore the victor of the election will be whoever is able to swing the battleground states.
