As students adjust to the new school year and routines, their choice of clothing must adapt as well. While students put away their tank tops and bathing suits, here’s some of the top picks for back to school fashion trends of this school year.

Some trends have carried over from past years such as New Balance and Sambas shoes and Split59 leggings. These classics are very popular back to school items especially with the versatility of each of them. Sophomore Layla Niess offered some insight on why she loves wearing Split59 Leggings. “They are very cute and you literally wear them with anything so they are really easy to put on when you’re in a rush and don’t know what to wear.” Another trend that carried over was Owala water bottles. Senior Harriet Blaha said “I like my Owala because I can sip or chug it depending on my thirst level.”

Even though a few trends stuck from last year, there are quite a few new ones. Students have loved Parke Sweatshirts, cross body skorts, and flip flops. Parke sweatshirts have been a fan favorite for students this year, especially because of how comfortable they are. Sophomore Megan Wrigley said “It’s perfect for warmer weather because it doesn’t make you feel hot, it just feels light and airy.” Another trend that has come up is cross body skorts. These skirts are the perfect pick for fall. The shorts in the back and skirt in the front is a great dress code friendly option that is still super cute. Finally, flips flops have been a major trend this school year, especially amongst the male students. Many male students have made the shift from sneakers to flip flops this school year, but not everyone is a fan of this. Sophomore George Tucker said “Why are their toes out at school you are not at the pool, keep it classy.”
