In the skies of New Jersey, unidentified drones have been spotted, raising many questions about privacy, security, and technology. While many associate UFOs with aliens or other unearthly creatures, these drones qualify as unidentified flying objects. Over the past few months pictures, videos and theories have circled the internet, bringing military and government attention. The mysterious aerial vehicles originated in New Jersey last year, but have since then spread throughout the US. Most information is still unknown about these drones, but some facts have been confirmed.
The middle of November, 2024 marks the first drone sightings in New Jersey. Most of the sightings have occurred in residential areas. Confusion across the government gives mixed signals to the public about explanations of these drone sightings. Some have tried to reassure the public, saying the drones are normal activity and others have admitted to not having an explanation of these drones’ origin or behavior. The confusion from the US government has led to theories circling the internet in hopes to bring reassurance to fearful New Jersey residents. The leading theory of these drones’ origins is foreign powers like China. Many think these foreign powers are using drones as surveillance over the US. This theory was first introduced when drone sightings were recorded by an airport and military base. But the drones have yet to exhibit any behavior that would cause alarm. Others even believe that the US government is using drones to observe their own citizens. Many believe the possibility of recreational or normal activity drones and lastly, a few have considered non-human activity.
Some suggest the FBI is holding information, but the former director of the Pentagon unit that studied UFOs, Lue Elizondo, debunks this. Over the past few months, the term “drone” has been used to describe these flying objects, but Lue discussed how they defy what the US considers a drone. Hypersonic speed without signatures, instant acceleration, anti-gravity, and behavior in swarms are all features of these aerial objects that are unexplainable by both physics and technology. The technology required for these flying objects makes the theory of these UFOs being foreign controlled less likely and supports the idea of non-human activity. Lue also suggests an alternate theory that the US government is holding back information and has been unsuccessful in creating a consistent cover up story. Lue acknowledges the FBI’s invovlvment while explaining their uncertainty about these UFOs.
New Jersey responded in December by putting restrictions on drone use including no fly zones. These restrictions will soon be lifted and no further action has been discussed. The government has yet to be explain these mysterious UFO sightings in New Jersey to the public, growing fear across the US. Many theories have been discussed, but none have been confirmed. Sightings continue across the US into 2025.
