Diogenes Syndrome, or DS, is a behavioral illness usually found in elderly people. The illness results in unhygienic habits, a neglected physical state, refusal of external state, self-imposed isolation, and unusual hoarding. These symptoms have commonly just been associated with being grouchy in old age, but it’s an actual common condition. If any elders you know exhibit these symptoms, please reach out to them and help.
