I’m back with another installment of my fashion reviews. This week, I will look at the fashion from the Venice Film Festival. This is like the Cannes Film Festival but, obviously, in Venice. Any time there is a red carpet, there is the opportunity for a fashion favorite and a fashion nightmare.
Fashion Favorites
This is Leonie Hanne. She is a German model and influencer. I like how flowy the dress is at the bottom but the corset is fitted. I like this contrast between styles. The color is nice: it’s not too much, it’s simple. Her hair and jewelry complement the dress.
My favorite thing about this dress is the wings on the back. I think this was made with boning and fabric. Even if you took off the wings, it is super timeless. You could wear a black dress to anything and it’s not boring but elegant.
This is a Versace dress. I think the top is very clean and elegant but it gets more textured and interesting toward the bottom. This is another example of a contrast done well.
Fashion Nightmare
This is Livia Marques. She is a social media influencer and model. It looks like someone just put a ton of bows on it. It needs some shape or dimension. There are too many bows but they aren’t interesting to look at. The gloves don’t work with the dress.
This is Tilda Swinton. She is an actress and model and known for taking fashion risks. This one did not pay off. It looks very dull. I wish they gave her something with more color. She has a cold tone skin so needs a different shade. I don’t like the outfit in general. It’s shapeless.
This is Sienna Miller. She is an actress. This outfit was straight from the runway and I like it when they take something from the runway and then stylize it. This looks almost to casual and it doesn’t stand out to me. The pants make it worse. At first I thought it was a dress but it’s not.
