Do you remember in lower school when we all made homemade ice cream in Ziploc bags? Well, I’m back at it again, today I’ll be testing this using a recipe from Delish, but all images from this article are mine!
This dish claims to have a total time of 15 minutes, which is WAY better than my pasta last time. Ingredients and supplies we need include:
- 2 plastic bags (duh)
- 1 cup: half-and-half
- 2 tablespoons: of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon: of vanilla extract
- 3 cups: of ice
- 1/3 cup: kosher salt
STEP 1:
In a small bag plastic bag (which I have nicknamed Molly), put the half and half, sugar, and vanilla, but make sure to push out extra air before closing the bag.
STEP 2:
In the larger plastic bag combine ice and salt, then place Molly inside the bigger bag, close, and shake until the cream hardens! (i put a towel around the bags when I shook them, because they started to leak)
STEP 3:
Remove Molly from the big bag; inside Molly, you’ll find the ice cream! Enjoy!
Review:
Overall a great recipe to try at home. Took some physical labor, which I personally didn’t like, and it also made a bit of a mess. I was surprised it froze, but some parts were still melted. I say, try it! All the ingredients I had at home, and it only took 10 minutes and tasted like store-bought ice cream. ✓
