Ben Ewing: Hello Mr. Swann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: How do you feel about being the dean of the Class of 2026?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I\u2019ve really enjoyed getting to know this new crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Glad to hear that. Is it emotional to move on from such an amazing class, to take over a new one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: It\u2019s always emotional to watch students graduate, but that\u2019s part of teaching. If they don\u2019t graduate, you haven\u2019t done your job. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: As you stepped away from lacrosse coaching due to becoming a dean, what do you plan to pursue in your occasional free time?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I plan to spend more time gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Do you consider yourself to have a green thumb?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I do not. I am a quite lousy gardener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: What is your spirit animal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: Undecided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: What is your favorite vest brand?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: (long pause) What\u2019s the weather?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Windy, Overcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I actually don\u2019t know. I\u2019ve been wearing the same vest since I was 18 years old and I don\u2019t know who makes it. I\u2019ll go with Fleece Vest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Where is your dream destination?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: New Zealand. Perfect vest weather year-round on the south island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: If you and Mr. McCallum were to fight who would win?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: Mr. McCallum definitely. He\u2019s scrappy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: What are your thoughts on the quote, \u201cA jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.\u201d?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I appreciate it because it validates the idea that you don\u2019t have to be great at something in order to enjoy doing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Do you think this reflects your gardening skills?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: Absolutely!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Some may say you have the second-best facial hair amongst the faculty, with Mr. Ballard in first. Do you accept second place or challenge his greatness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: I can never do what Mr. Ballard does. I accept second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KN: Does that mean you\u2019ve tried?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BE: No comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
