Bonnaroo 2012: Music Lovers to Take Over Tennessee
Music, stand-up comedy, and arts fans alike have been waiting with bated breath for the Bonnaroo music festival June 7-10 in Manchester, Tenn. Boasting such headliners such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Shins, Radiohead, Aziz Ansari, Phish, The Beach Boys, and Foster The People, prospective Bonnaroo-goers are already planning their adventure up to the musical mecca that is Tennessee. Seniors Lauren Gold, Patrick Corbett, and Larisa Bainton are planning to drive up and sleep in tents (which Lauren stated should be “in-tent-se” due to the whole “not bathing thing.”
Other than the fantastic lineup of musicians and comedians, Bonnaroo has tons of other activities to partake in if you feel like you’re on music overload. These activities include Bonnaroo Cinema (a 24-hour air-conditioned cinema tent that shows multiple movies from documentaries to animated shorts), Bonnaroo Poster Art Exhibit, Bonnaroo Salon by Garnier Fructis (where you can go to get your hair washed for free), a Silent Auction tent, the infamous Silent Disco, and many, many more.
Tickets are still available. An estimated 80,000 people are expected for the four-day festival, which takes place on 700 acres of Tennessee farmland.
